Dr. Hennington recently saw a patient who hadn’t visited the dentist for over 10 years due to previous bad experiences and anxiety. Just leaning her back in the dental chair would trigger an anxiety response. Thanks to sedation dentistry, the patient was able to complete extensive treatment over several appointments that took her out of pain, helped save teeth she was on verge of losing, and add teeth in areas where they were missing. She was completely comfortable during procedure and even slept through most of it.
Talking to the patient after her procedures, she remembered very little and was extremely grateful and happy with the outcome. The great thing is that she now knows there is hope for her with respect to any future treatment, and she is now committed to regular visits and preventive care.
